Following a Proven Design
The Stella Nova reflects the satisfaction Supreme Fishing Company has with its previous vessel, Patrick C DA 77, also built by Mooney Boats. Sharing a similar hull design, engine room machinery, and overall layout ensures optimal performance and familiarity for the crew.
Built for Efficiency and Quality
Niall Connolly praises the high standards of both build quality and finish in Stella Nova. This focus on detail ensures the vessel is not only functional but will endure the rigors of commercial fishing for years to come.
Targeting Irish Sea Prawn Stocks
With Cornelis Schaap and Darren O’Brien at the helm, Stella Nova will primarily target prawn stocks in the Irish Sea. The caught prawns will be frozen at sea and landed at Clogherhead Fishermen’s Co-Operative for export to European markets. The vessel is also equipped for seasonal fishing of squid and cuttlefish, further diversifying its catch potential.
A Symbol of Irish Collaboration
Stella Nova stands as a testament to the strength of Ireland’s maritime industry. Mooney Boats’ collaboration with local companies, insured by C N Chambers Ltd. of Kilkeel, showcases the expertise and successful partnerships that contribute to the country’s innovative fishing fleet.
