RV Celtic Voyager Returns to Mooney Boats Ltd

We had the RV Celtic Voyager return to the yard for some works to be done. Its always a pleasure to have the research vessels up at the yard, and this visit was no exception. Among others, some of the work done was as follows:

  • Vessel Slipped, washed, painted. Anodes supplied and fitted. Aft deck shotblasted and various spots around the deck and superstructure
  • Rudder inspected then removed. New Becker Flap Shaft manufactured at workshop. Rudder replaced
  • Removed 2 auxiliary engine generators removed and replaced.
  • Fit four new shut off valves to pipe work at tanks
  • Replaced floorings throughout vessel
  • Performed Ultrasonics testing of Hull plating
  • Replaced Grease Trap
  • Hydraulic hoses inspected and replaced as required
  • Replaced Deckwash pump with new unit
  • Removed old anchor chains and supplied and fitted new anchor chains with LRS certification
  • Removed A Frame striped hydraulic rams made new s/s rods for rams supplied new seals and refitted
